Who is Crunchyroll?
Crunchyroll is a site for both anime and manga fans alike, offering a wide selection in both manga and anime. They pride themselves on connecting with fans in over 200 countries and offering a 360-experience not found anywhere else. Crunchyroll has slowly become the popular choice for when it comes to anime streaming sites, making them a fierce competitor. With their iconic orange and catchy name, it isn't a surprise that word of them spread as quickly as it has.
Design Problem
The name Crunchyroll results from Japanese influence on Western culture. The sushi roll and bright orange are iconic for the company's branding so taking inspiration from the previous logo was key. During the growth and quick popularization of the streaming service, Crunchyroll has rebranded a few times to fit the changing community and audience. The dissonance between their new and current identity attempts to pay homage to where they started. The rebrand idea is to solidify and clean up their branding and identity, to which the two ideas can fit well together.
The concept used to create the logo and branding. Crunchyroll represents a sense of community and connection for not just anime and manga fans but also the studios that allow them to offer the best quality content possible.
